FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

On October 4, 2012, Mobile County Sheriff’s Office Special Operations unit, MCSO Narcotics and US Marshall Task Force were conducting METH TEXT and CRIME TIP complaints in the area of Natchez Hwy in Wilmer, Alabama.  MCSO  had received several complaints on a residence in the 4900 block of Natchez Highway.  When Deputies went to the residence, MITCHELL NICHOLS, denied any involvement with meth and  said that someone else who had lived there was a meth cook and left behind all his paraphernalia, ingredients, etc.  MCSO Narcotic officer offered to help him remove all the dangerous materials and while doing so found a ONE SHOT METH LAB underneath the side of his home.  NICHOLS did eventually confess to the meth lab being his and manufacturing.

“We are able to successfully put these pill shoppers and manufacturers behind bars because of the information that we receive from the general public”, says Sheriff Sam Cochran.  ” We are constantly doing knock and talks with every complaint that is sent to us either through our METH TEXT or our CRIME TIPS on our website.”
The Meth initiative, designed by the Mobile County Sheriff’s Office, targets meth users and manufactures through three areas of focus:  Enforcement, Compliance and Education.  To Report Meth, you may do so in three ways; (1) text the word “meth” to 839863 (“textme”), (2) go to our website, www.mobileso.com go to CRIME TIPS, (3) you can call our dispatch at 574-8633.
